GPM used a 20t excavator and moxy to screen the beach down to 10mm fines and remove the rock from the beach around the corner to queenscliff where it was removed and taken to a council designated depot. The project was carried out with minimal impact to the international tourism spot and restored the aesthetic look of one of Australias most iconic beach.

Clontarf
GPM was requested by manly council to conduct dredging maintence works on clontaf beach. Over time sand would wash up onto the beach and rendered the pool enclosure there unusable during low tide. A total of 3600m3 of dredged material was pulled out and relocated down the southern end of the beach. This also improved the accessability of the walkway at the southern end, as during high tide pedestrians were forced to detour back onto the footpath. the maintenance works was designed to have a 20 year life and was carried out with in time and budget.

GPM was given the responsbility by bega valley council to carry out the $1.5 million refurbishment works to Merimbula public jetty. The finger comes out 50m from shore to the head of the jetty which is 300m2 with a ramp and pontoon. GPM had to completely demolish the existing jetty, drive more than 70 piles into the seabed creating a new structure in the existing location. All piles were driven, from GPM's pile rig, and the tops were domed to increase the overall aesthetic appearance. A specially ordered mesh decking was sourced from Canada to provide the finishing touches on what is considered to be the pride of the town.

Echuca
GPM is currently carrying out $5 million restoration works on the historical port of Echuca. This heritage listed wharf dates back to the 1800's and is and authentic working steam port, home to Australia's largest fleet of steam driven paddle steamers. Working closely with Campaspe council, the port of echuca will be completely disassembled and reasembled, restoring it back to it's original state. The use of sheet piling will overcome the natural obstacles provided by the murray river, giving the highest standard of quality work otherwise unachievable through the use of divers. GPM is using all of it's own resources to deliver the project thus minimising subcontractural agreements therefore increasing economy and efficiency. be sure to keep and eye on this development on www.campaspe.vic.gov.au.
